Phipps Jewelry Company creates custom jewels inspired by nature and sea. From their home in Tallahassee - a family horse farm and equestrian center - the Phipps couple designs beautiful, hand
crafted pieces ranging from coral earrrings to quail brooches, in addition to exquisite custom pieces limited only by the imagination.
Phipps has come full circle since early 1900s, when Mrs. W.H. Klapp - ; Gavin's great-great-grandmother sparked a family trend in the creation of custom jewelry. Mrs. Klapp was recognized for her
unique settings of jewelry and was honored at the Paris Exposition of 1900 and the Pan-American Exposition of 1901. According to the 1915 article in Harper's Bazaar, "Women who achieve,"
Mrs. Klapp carried a "brilliant artistic career," which led to her acclaim. Additionally, Mr. Henry Phipps, Gavin's great-great-grandfather; also become a part of U.S. history, as he and Mr.
Andrew Carnegie created the company that would later become known as U.S.Steel.
